SUMMER RETREAT 2010!!!!
The dates for the annual summer retreats have been scheduled for the 13-15 of August and the 27-29 of August. They are what I call "structured retreats" since we will be working on a specific project. This years project is the Radiant Star quilt by Eleanor Burns which is a strip-pieced lonestar. We will be using the Roses fabric collection by Maywood Studios. This is a deep, rich fabric line with reds, greens, creams and blacks and the middle border will be a vine of roses. The strips for this project will be pre-cut for convenience and the quilt finishes at 84x90. Once I have the sample finished, I will post it on the site.
The retreat will be held again at the Cimarron Ranch Retreat in Marble Falls, Texas. Once all the registrations have been received, each group will be divided into sub-groups and assigned a meal to be responsible for to help cut the costs involved. I will be furnishing the Friday night meal, brisket, beans, coleslaw and a dessert yet to be determined. The total cost is $280.00 per person with a $75.00 non-refundable deposit due at the time of registration. The same quilt will be taught at each retreat, just choose a date most convenient for you! If you are interested in attending, contact me through this site (at the Contact Us tab) and I will email you a picture of the quilt center, registration form and a picture of the fabric swatches. This pictures of the fabrics do not do them justice, they are absolutely beautiful fabrics!!! Each session is limited to 15, first come first serve, hope to see you in August!!!
