Club Wednesday is March 6th!

2/28/2019

Club Wednesday for March is fast approaching!  I'm working frantically to get all of the monthly projects completed AND looks like I will make it again, one more time!  Provided nothing else interferes with my plans, I should have the current month's group of projects ready to display and talk about!

The Vintage Christmas is completed as well as the Heartland Heritage, just have to finish the hair on the Calendar Girl and that one will be done, just have to finish up the table runner and get the Dessert Sampler done, thank goodness for the leader and ender method of piecing!!!

Summer Retreat Survey!!!

2/14/2019

I'm trying to decide which of these quilts to make for this year's Summer Retreat so I'm asking for your input!!  I love using the Quick Curve Ruler, and want to do another quilt this year using this ruler.  If you have never used this ruler, don't let the curve fool you!  It is a great tool to make these beautiful quilts without stressing over curved piecing.  The initial blocks are over-sized with plenty of room to trim down to the perfect fit.
If you can help me by answering the following questions:
1)  Which of these quilts do you like best; and
2)  What color way would you be most interested in?
Just post your response in the reply section.  If you hoover over the image, the name of the quilt will appear
Thanks so much for your help!

I have a Tula Pink quilt in the frame and so I'll be showing snippets as I go!  It's a show quilt so it will be a work in progress over the next few days, so, as I finish areas I'll be sharing them with you and then the completed quilt when I reach that point!  AND......

While I was scrolling facebook this morning I came across this quilt posted by the International Quilt Festival, with the following information:

How incredible is this quilt? "Vortex in Variation" by Gail Smith. Based on the pattern Vortex in Variation by Nora Ronningen of Collector With a Needle. See it on display at Quilt Festival in Chicago!

I quilted this for Gail and it will be part of the traveling exhibit for the International Quilt Festival.  It was exciting to see it as part of the promotion for the exhibit!!

Brain Break!

After I do several brain engaging custom quilts, it's nice to take a break from thinking too hard and work in a couple of edge to edge (e2e) to give my brain a break but still get a quilt off my to do list!  I have one more e2e to go and then on to a really pretty Tula Pink creation that will require a ton of custom.  I'm excited to get started on it, I have an idea in my brain already and hopefully that idea transfers to the quilt successfully!!

Winter Retreat project

Nothing like a deadline to inspire a finish!!  This is the quilt we will be making at the 2nd Annual Winter Retreat that will begin next Friday, February 22nd!  My friend, Harriett Collins, pieced this together for me and I finally got it quilted AND bound last night!  My new favorite machine binding is using the flange method.  It's great for finishing those projects that don't require that hand touch!

There are still places remaining for those who haven't signed up for this retreat yet!

I started this last week and between doctor's appointments for my mom and Club Wednesday, it didn't get the attention it needed for me to finish it in one week.  It's done now and I think it turned out quite nicely!

    Funny Story!!!
This is the label on the very first custom quilting I attempted. It is on a quilt that belongs to my long time friend and obviously I did not enjoy the process then! However, I didn’t give up on it and even though my style has changed significantly since my first attempt, I’m glad I kept going and didn’t let the little bumps in the road deter me from pursuing my dream!

Hi!  Angela here!  I've been sewing all my life and quilting for half of that!  I'll be sharing here some quick snippets of projects (mine and customers) that I have completed along with other fun stuff I stumble across along the way.  I hope you have fun following along!
