Yay! Finally!!! The cross-hatch ruler tutorial is here! Thanks to my friend, Shaula Patton, from the Feathered Star in Clyde, Texas, I now have a video to show you how to create the double cross-hatch design using the long cross hatch ruler. This design works so well in borders whether they are solid or most especially if your border fabric is a busy print. This design shows up well in any border and if you use the small crosshatch ruler, it is great for ditch work, cross-hatch in smaller areas and general ruler work.

My friend, Shaula Patton, came over and spent the day watching me quilt with a camera and soon I will be posting new quilting videos as she finishes the editing and some like this one, where I just use my Iphone and do a little snippet here and there. Hope you enjoy! I hope you are having a wonderful Memorial Day, time off with family and friends and a moment to remember those who made the sacrifice to serve and those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the freedoms we so often taken for granted in our daily lives.
In observance of this holiday, I'm doing a one day sale!!! Who doesn't love a sale? Even though my fabrics are $7.75 per yard everyday, I do have a $5.00 yard sale page and I have added several new items to this page, including some pre-cuts that have been newly reduced in price. But wait! There's more!.....Enter "memorial" at check out and get $25.00 off your order of $50.00 or more!!! Happy shopping!!! If you loved the Poppins Bag and the Little Poppins you are going to absolutely adore the Mini Poppins Bag! It's a useful zippered bag that comes in two sizes! Lots of pockets on the inside to keep everything organized. Great travel bag or sewing kit. Just click on the picture to get yours!
What a great name for such a cute little vintage quilt! It reminds me of my grandmother's quilts and just makes me happy! You can get the pattern in the pattern section or if you want all the fabrics to go with it you can find it in the kit section! Happy quilting!
The month of April was extremely busy, with all the regular stuff and then my kids from West Virginia were here for the week of Easter, then the trip to Paducah!!! If you follow me on Facebook you got to see a bit of what we did and how much fun we had!! My customer quilts didn't receive ribbons, but the fact that they made it to that prestigious venue is still quite a feat in and of itself!!
The Summer Retreat II in September is also full!!! What a great response to these two retreat events, I'm over the top excited about both of them!!! If you missed out and would like to be put on a wait list, just drop me a line and if someone cancels, I'll give you a ring! Looking ahead to some new block of the month programs I discovered that Lori Holt has yet another, extremely cute book coming out that will be perfect for a monthly program, Vintage Farm Girl 2, (picture below). The book isn't available yet, but looking at maybe starting this one in the fall so stay tuned for details! Another possibility for a program is Pineapple Party by Swirly Girls. I saw this one made at Paducah and fell in love! This one would possibly be a six-eight month program, I don't have all the details yet, but again, something for later in the fall or early January, 2020 Check out the online shop, I have added several new fabrics, precuts and notions, I've been a bit lax in this area but I think I'm caught up now! Off to do some quilting, have a great day! The August Summer Retreat filled up so quickly and since I have had several requests for a second date, I have set a date for Summer Retreat II - September 13-15!
We will be doing the same patterns and have the same fun, just on a different date! So if you missed out on the August retreat, here's your chance to make one of these great quilts and have some great fun!!! Click on the Events tab at the top and go to Summer Retreats for all the details and to reserve your place! It's been a while since I have had new things on the site, but I got some yesterday!!! Just Click on the picture to see the details and some of my out of stock items have been re-stocked!!
It was a great day for show & tell at Club Wednesday yesterday!! We had a full house and a ton of fun!!!
It's that time of the month again, Club Wednesday!!! Time to pick up the newest blocks for all the programs and to show off what you have finished! You can stay an sew after the meeting and the little store in town is back open so burgers are back on the menu!

Funny Story!!!
This is the label on the very first custom quilting I attempted. It is on a quilt that belongs to my long time friend and obviously I did not enjoy the process then! However, I didn’t give up on it and even though my style has changed significantly since my first attempt, I’m glad I kept going and didn’t let the little bumps in the road deter me from pursuing my dream! AuthorHi! Angela here! I've been sewing all my life and quilting for half of that! I'll be sharing here some quick snippets of projects (mine and customers) that I have completed along with other fun stuff I stumble across along the way. I hope you have fun following along!
