I've made my decision for the Christmas in July project and there will be two! A Santa Table Topper and a Santa Tree Skirt. Both are pretty simple and you should be able to get them both completed in the weekend! I'll post a picture of the tree skirt later, but this is a picture of the table topper we will be making, too cute! Hop on over the the Events page to get all the details and reserve your place!
Our monthly Club Wednesday meeting is tomorrow, March 6, 2019. We start at 10:00 a.m. and would love to have you come join us for some quiltie fellowship and stay after the meeting for an afternoon of sewing! The local cafe is temporarily closed, so, you might want to bring your lunch or, I'll be making some red beans and Jessica is bringing cornbread and you're welcome to join us!
Congratulations to Cynthia Regone for receiving Best of Show Honors at the West Houston Quilt Guild Quilt Show this past weekend, March 1-2, 2019. I was lucky enough to quilt her Best of Show Entry and her Mariner's Compass that also received a blue ribbon in its category. She also received another blue ribbon in category for her sampler quilt shown here. Great Job!!!

Club Wednesday for March is fast approaching! I'm working frantically to get all of the monthly projects completed AND looks like I will make it again, one more time! Provided nothing else interferes with my plans, I should have the current month's group of projects ready to display and talk about!
The Vintage Christmas is completed as well as the Heartland Heritage, just have to finish the hair on the Calendar Girl and that one will be done, just have to finish up the table runner and get the Dessert Sampler done, thank goodness for the leader and ender method of piecing!!!
I've added a few new events to the retreat calendar:
A Quilter' Choice weekend in March (March 22-24th)
The 12th Annual Summer Retreat is on the calendar, August 23-25, still not sure about the quilt project yet, but it's on the books!
Also have scheduled a Christmas in July Weekend July 26-28 with the project to be determined, but it will be Christmasie!!
I'm thinking about a booking special.......
The Best Little Quilt Show is an annual show held in February each year. The quilts pictured here are quilts that I quilted that received honors at the show including Most Qutstanding Traditional, NQS Merit Award to Ramona Griffin, Pride of LaGrange to Betty Schmidt and category ribbons to both Ramona & Betty along with Dana Brewer and Carolyn Bennettsen. Congratulations ladies!!!
I'm trying to decide which of these quilts to make for this year's Summer Retreat so I'm asking for your input!! I love using the Quick Curve Ruler, and want to do another quilt this year using this ruler. If you have never used this ruler, don't let the curve fool you! It is a great tool to make these beautiful quilts without stressing over curved piecing. The initial blocks are over-sized with plenty of room to trim down to the perfect fit.
If you can help me by answering the following questions:
1) Which of these quilts do you like best; and
2) What color way would you be most interested in?
Just post your response in the reply section. If you hoover over the image, the name of the quilt will appear
Thanks so much for your help!
This is the last e2e before I begin work on the Tula Pink Pom Pom quilt, I'm so excited to get started on it!!
This is the label on the very first custom quilting I attempted. It is on a quilt that belongs to my long time friend and obviously I did not enjoy the process then! However, I didn’t give up on it and even though my style has changed significantly since my first attempt, I’m glad I kept going and didn’t let the little bumps in the road deter me from pursuing my dream!
Hi! Angela here! I've been sewing all my life and quilting for half of that! I'll be sharing here some quick snippets of projects (mine and customers) that I have completed along with other fun stuff I stumble across along the way. I hope you have fun following along!
